Photo Guidelines
In order to correctly identify your plant specimen, we will need a few different photos of the plant in question. Here’s what to look for and what to photograph:
NEW SHOOTS
If it’s spring you may see some young shoots. They look a little bit like red/purple asparagus.
THE LEAVES
The Spade/shield shaped leaves grow on alternative sides down the stem to produce a zig-zag pattern.
THE STEMS
Knotweed stems have a purple, speckled appearance and have regular nodes, similar to Bamboo.
THE FLOWERS
In late summer, Knotweed will produce clusters of lengthy cream/white flowers.
